These three programs help eligible New Brunswick homeowners and rental-property owners improve energy efficiency and reduce heating costs:

This program assists homeowners who own and live in their home and have a combined annual household income of $70,000 or less. Eligible participants may qualify for no-cost upgrades, including insulation, ventilation improvements and heat pump installation. Approved upgrades are determined through the program’s energy assessment.

This program offers rebates for eligible home energy upgrades, regardless of how you heat. Eligible heat-pump incentives include $400 for a mini-split and $1,500 for a central ducted system. Equipment must meet the program’s eligibility criteria.

Register and complete your initial home energy assessment before purchasing products or starting work. Only products acquired and work completed after that assessment are eligible for incentives.

This program helps owners of year-round residential rental properties in New Brunswick improve energy efficiency and tenant comfort. Eligible participants may receive financial support for upgrades such as heat pumps, insulation, ventilation and water heating. These improvements aim to reduce energy consumption and create more comfortable living spaces for tenants. Standard rebates for eligible ductless heat pumps range from $1,875 to $7,500 per unit, depending on capacity.

You must receive NB Power’s project preapproval before starting work or incurring expenses. Work started or expenses incurred before preapproval are not eligible.
